100 BASE T

This 100 BASE T Ethernet solution provides the advantages of a star wired cabling system for easy moves, changes and additions.  It uses low-cost unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable while still allowing Ethernet devices to operate at the full 100 Mbps data rate.  Changes can be made quickly and easily simply by moving a modular patch cord on the patch panel.  As an added benefit, other devices on the network will not be affected by a change at the patch panel, as would be the case on a traditionally wired thin Ethernet segment.  Data integrity is maintained by using high quality Category 5 components such as patch panels that have been tested at speeds to 100 Mbps.  For added flexibility, the 100 BASE T hubs incorporated in this solution provide both BNC and AUI connectors, allowing for easy interconnection to either thick or thin Ethernet cabling segments.  Conversion of thick or thin Ethernet devices to 100 BASE T is easy too.
